Paz Vega and Morgan Freeman
Paz Vega and Morgan Freeman starred in 10 Items or Less, one of the first movies made available online (legally) just two weeks after its 2006 theatrical debut. Most cinema-owners refused to play the movie, but Mark Cuban agreed to run it in his Landmark Theatres chain. (The 10 Items saga is part of Chapter 10, included in the free preview.)

The free preview of Inventing the Movies includes the front and back covers, the Table of Contents, the Introduction, and Chapters 1 and 10. (For more on what these parts of the book deal with, check out the contents page.)

It’s in PDF form, and 25-pages long. The file has no digital rights management restrictions, so you’re free to share it. It prints out nicely on 8.5 x 11 paper.

You can download it here.

(Also: the bonus material page includes some excerpts from the book that aren’t included in the preview.)
