Lisa Genova
Novelist (and neuroscientist) Lisa Genova started spreading the word about her first book, Still Alice, on a Web site and blog before she’d even published it. The first edition was self-published through iUniverse in 2007. But Still Alice was later picked up by Simon & Schuster, and in January 2009 it landed Genova on the New York Times’ best-seller list.
